Gewurztraminer – Im Schloss
The plot from which this wine is made is located on the ruins of the Meywhir castle (10th century), hence the name of this specific area: “Im Schloss”.
This wine for laying down is made from the Pinot noir grape variety and is aged in oak barrels.
It has a light tannin and woodiness with a typical fruitiness.
It goes well with red meats, game, charcuteries, goat’s cheese or Gruyère. Serve at room temperature.

Pinot noir is the only grape variety in Alsace that produces a red or rosé wine with a typical fruity taste reminiscent of cherries. It can be aged in oak barrels, which adds a more robust and complex structure to its aromas.
